Saint Andrew the First-Called Georgian University of the Patriarchate of Georgia (SANGU) was founded in 2008 with the blessing of His Holiness and Beatitude Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Ilia II. Established to uphold Georgia’s scientific heritage and ecclesiastical traditions while meeting modern academic standards, the university aims to foster spiritual development, preserve individuality, and prepare future scholars.

Initially offering postgraduate programs in Natural Sciences, Physics, and Mathematics, SANGU expanded in 2010 to include a wide range of Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral programs. Today, the university is home to approximately 1,500 students across two academic schools:

•School of Humanitarian Science and Law

•School of Business, Computing, and Social Sciences

SANGU is recognized by the Ministry of Education and is known for its modern infrastructure. The university provides well-equipped classrooms with the latest technology and places a strong emphasis on English language proficiency. A dedicated Center for Foreign Languages further supports students in their linguistic development.

The university’s faculty consists of leading Georgian specialists from both older and newer generations, alongside accomplished Georgian scientists from abroad. Additionally, international experts contribute to the teaching process, ensuring a diverse and high-quality education.
